Armis is Named on the 2024 Constellation ShortList™ for Healthcare Medical Device Security for the 2nd Consecutive Year

2024 Constellation ShortList™

In a Healthcare environment, connected medical devices play an increasingly crucial role in patient care, but also contribute to the growing attack surface that Healthcare security teams must effectively see, protect, and manage. Recognizing this challenge, Constellation Research helps Healthcare security leaders narrow their search for technologies that will reduce cyber risk within their organizations. The 2024 Constellation ShortList™ for Healthcare Medical Device Security names vendors that are focused on “how they can help healthcare providers improve patient safety with an emphasis on IT Security.” I am extremely proud that Armis is included in this Constellation ShortListTM for the 2nd consecutive year for the comprehensive device visibility, intelligence, and security that our product, Armis Centrix™ for Medical Device Security, provides to healthcare organizations.

How does Armis meet Constellation’s rigorous criteria for medical device security? Below are a few highlights:

  • Unveiling the Unseen: Armis Centrix™ for Medical Device Security sees all connected managed and unmanaged assets in a healthcare environment, including legacy equipment, IT assets, and assets that provide remote patient care services and host/process PHI, and maintains an accurate real-time asset inventory.
  • Deep Device Understanding: Our product goes beyond identifying devices. It delves into the inner workings of each device, hardware and configuration details, applications, and device location. Gaining this deep situational awareness affords administrators the insights required to ensure an appropriate security posture, adherence to compliance regulations and security frameworks, and optimize the capacity utilization of each and every device.
  • Behavior Monitoring and Compliance: Armis Centrix™ for Medical Device Security provides a complete forensic view into all activities and behaviors in the healthcare device ecosystem. It learns the normal behavior of each device and compares it with our asset intelligence engine, which contains over 4 billion asset profiles.  This enables asset enhancement and early detection of any abnormal behavior that can disrupt patient care and organizational resilience. For compliance reporting, it also provides visibility into assets that violate regulatory compliance standards or security frameworks.
  • Continuous Vulnerability and Threat Monitoring: Armis Centrix™ for Medical Device Security ensures a comprehensive and continuous view of a healthcare organization’s risk posture. It provides deep risk insights that combine a device’s profile attributes, configuration, behavior, vulnerabilities, and clinical risk. It will also prioritize remediation efforts based on the criticality of the asset to the business. Our threat intelligence and continuous monitoring protect organizations from ransomware and zero-day attacks.
  • Automated Network Segmentation & Enforcement: Armis Centrix™ for Medical Device Security reduces the attack surface through proactive real-time network segmentation, adjusting policies based on changes. It helps simplify and accelerate complex network segmentation projects to help contain any compromise and ensure the secure operations of medical devices and patient safety.
  • FDA Recall and Security Advisories Management: Armis Centrix™ for Medical Device Security helps monitor and manage FDA recalls and affected devices with an FDA Recall Dashboard. It streamlines and automates fast identification and management of FDA recalls, helping organizations address clinical risk created by recall concerns and achieve a higher level of overall patient safety.

Our healthcare customers attest to the valuable insights they gain with Armis. In a customer case study, Brian Schultz, Director of Network Operations and Security, at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, explains, “We are looking at Armis as a new way to gain insights into our network. It only takes a little bit of effort on our part to get an enormous amount of information. Prior to Armis, the amount of work it would take to collect that data would be beyond our capabilities.”
