• Visibility of Managed and Unmanaged Devices

The most comprehensive visibility of IT asset inventory and risks in your environment. Period.

THE VISIBILITY PROBLEM

Large enterprises still struggle to see their complete IT asset inventory — all managed and unmanaged devices. For managed devices, agent-based tools can provide detailed information about the organization’s managed computers—but only when the agents are working properly. Unfortunately, this is not always the case (especially in large environments). The agents sometimes break or are disabled by the users, and the scope of agent-based systems does not extend to unmanaged or IoT devices.

Managed Devices

SEEING UNMANAGED DEVICES

Enterprises contain a large and growing number of unmanaged devices such as printers, cameras, smart TVs, smart lighting systems, etc. Most inventory tools which claim to provide “visibility” or “discovery” were not designed to discover or assess unmanaged assets. As a result, you’re left with gaps—an incomplete picture of devices and risks in your environment. This is a security problem. And depending on what kind of business you have, it may also be a compliance problem.

Seeing Unmanaged Devices

ARMIS SEES WHAT OTHER TOOLS MISS

Unlike tools that provide some information about some devices in your environment, Armis lets you see every thing, including a broad range of information about every device in your environment—your complete IT asset inventory.

Other Products Armis
Agent-based systems are designed to provide information about managed computers. They perform poorly or not at all with regard to unmanaged devices. Armis is agentless, and provides a full asset inventory of everything in your environment—both managed and unmanaged assets.
Network-based visibility tools, such as network access control (NAC), are blind to devices communicating in the airspace using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc. Armis sees everything communicating in your airspace, to give you a more comprehensive inventory of devices and risks.
Network access control (NAC) is not designed to assess the risk of unmanaged devices or monitor their behavior. Armis analyzes each device—managed and unmanaged—and calculates its risk score based on many factors including software vulnerabilities we detect, observed behavior, threat intelligence, and more.
Scanner tools that run periodically (weekly or monthly), and miss transient devices. Armis discovers devices in real-time.
SIEM and UEBA are designed to assess risks by analyzing logs and correlating events. But unmanaged devices do not produce logs, so the risks go unseen. Armis does not rely on logs. Armis directly assesses the risk of each device on your network.
Network scanners can disrupt (crash) many kinds of unmanaged devices. Armis uses passive monitoring only. There is no risk of disruption.

EASY TO INSTALL AND OPERATE

Armis requires no agents or additional hardware, making deployment fast and simple. Armis collects data passively, via a virtual appliance that sits out-of-band on your network. It has no impact to network traffic or device performance. As a result, Armis can be deployed literally within minutes to hours.
